Dear visitor and volunteerWe are here in Mayapur, India, working with enthusiasm in an exemplary eco community called Eco Village Mayapur Dham. There is so much to do for learning and helping us to improve our service to our local community.
Mayapur Dham is located at Gular Ghat – Isodian – Mayapur - Nadia, behind Gour Gadhadar Temple, into a special environment that allows you to be connected with nature and with your inner self.
This is a very nice community ashram situated on the bank of the Ganges specially serves the Spanish speaking community to learn more about the Vaisnava Culture of Bengal. There are many cottages built in traditional style of bambo contruction, also a tree house and a beautiful fruit orchard: you can bathe in the Ganges and help in diverse activities such as tulasi garden caretaking: organic gardening: hospital seva, education, among others.
The setting is a wonderful area of temples and ashrams inspired by the simple living and high thinking of the Vaisnava universal taught by Caitanya Mahaprabhu

You can also participate to our workshops and so find back and use your creativity, know local people, as well as make new friends who speak different languages, and also you will have an experience of a lifetime. You can come here or you can visit similar successful projects in neighbouring countries such as Chile, Ecuador, Argentina, Peru and Bolivia.

Activities:
Agriculture and vegetarian food: We have Tulsi Garden, which is a sacred plant, you will learn more about it and you can help us to take care of it. Agro conscience is fundamental to our team, because these vegetables are used for cooking vegetarian food in our restaurant and they taste great! You can help us too in our daily cooking! The violence-free diet allows you to develop greater compassion for all living entity.
Classes: You will develop different courses to the people here. You can organize English classes, classes for children, for adults, etc. You can also give classes of art, maybe you know music, painting, dancing, among others.
Construction: You will learn how to construct different architectural buildings using ecological materials. You will learn about the Truly constructions and temazcals.
Hatha yoga: You will see how this type of yoga sets the model of a healthy, relaxed and flexible body, living the experience of having both mind and senses in harmony connected. The natural space for you to practice Hatha Yoga is available and will help your body and soul, to be connected with your inner voice.
Life Philosophy: Vaisnava classes are taught daily. The main purpose of these classes is that it is possible to learn what you can do in order to perform a great service to humanity.
Important points to be considered:
The food is lacto-vegetarian, and it consists of three meals per day, based on healthy lacteal-vegetarian products.
Please note that we request our visitors and volunteers to abstain from intoxicants and extramarital relationships to preserve the sanctity of the project.
The community has electrical light.
What you need to bring:
* A sleeping bag, blankets, a lantern, a camping math (if possible), hat, mosquitos repellent, sun block.
Comfortable clothes and also warm clothes in order to keep you sheltered and wrap up well at night.
Personal hygiene articles to wash yourself and toilet paper, too.
What you cannot bring:
Any kind of drugs or hallucinogens, cigars or alcohol etc.
Any kind of food that contains red meat, white meat, seafood or eggs.
Volunteer Work: 4 US daily. Thanks to this minimum donation you will receive 3 meals at day.
